The 78th Gran Premio della Liberazione still needs to finalize its program in detail, but one thing is certain: the race reserved for female cyclists, officially named Coati Liberazione Women (category 1.1 of the international calendar), which will take place on the morning of Friday, April 25, will be part of the Coppa Italia delle Regioni launched by the Lega Ciclismo Professionistico in collaboration with the Conference of Regions and Autonomous Provinces. The women's race Élite at the Terme di Caracalla will be the only stage in Lazio among the 31 throughout Italy (21 men's and 10 women's) that will make up this challenge, officially presented yesterday at Montecitorio with the participation of ministers and cycling champions. “The inclusion of the Coati Liberazione Women in the Coppa Italia delle Regioni, alongside other world-renowned events such as Strade Bianche and Sanremo, is an honor for me, for my organizing team, and for the historic event in which this race takes place,” says Claudio Terenzi, since 2021 patron of the GP Liberazione. “It is very pleasing to see the active interest from national politics in a sport that promotes territories and the highest values of society like no other. I thank the president of the LCP, Hon. Roberto Pella, for his trust, and we are sure that we will live up to expectations and bring prestige both to the Capital and to our region. There will be many teams and athletes who will want to test themselves on our circuit in the heart of Rome and we are ready to give them an unforgettable experience.”
